Wonderful

This is my pic of the day for 2nd June 2013. The ever lovable yet tough Wonder Woman would not let some sexist warrior discriminate her gender. So, she decided to duel him to death :D

Lego Diploma

Today is the first day of June 2013 and I, being my ambitious self (ideal at first but I seldom made it thru), have decided to do a photo of the day so that I can keep this blog lively. Of course, all the picture that I will post will be about LEGO, or something to do with them at least. Now, for those who have read my previous post, I talked about a LEGO event whereby participants have to tell a personal story by building LEGO bricks out of it. I built a paradise mountain but sadly, I didn't bring my camera to take a photo of it. So instead, I will post this:

A cert signifying my completion of the competition. YAY! As for now, I do hope I would win though.

My Story Continues

I couldn't be more lethargic than I was for the past few weeks when I just sat in front of my computer screen and did nothing but refreshing my Facebook browser. Life had been stale for a while since nothing much is happening.

Well, given that there's something new to talk about and my guilty conscious's constant nagging for being lazy, I will first talk about the LEGO event that is happening in Malaysia. As part of an opportunity for people to open up their creativity (children especially), there is a "Build Your Story" LEGO event organized in Bangsar Village from 28 May until 9 June 2013. Long story short, those who participate can tell their personal story through the use of LEGO bricks. For instance, build a rocket if you dream of becoming an astronaut.

The full description of the terms and condition can be viewed via this link:

Secondly, I bought a new SuperHeroes set yesterday from KLCC but it's not the latest few. An old new set. Lolz. Anyhow, it's none other than the 6862 Superman vs Power Armour Lex with Wonder Woman. The set itself is literally a giant robot with Lex, Superman and Wonder Woman. Though there's nothing special to it, buying the set indicates that I finally have the three main Justice League members.

Now that's a major goal for me. Anyhow, these two were the big events that hyped me up. So till next time, nuff said.

Instagram

So, I have been hooked onto Instagram for the past few weeks which kinda explain my MIA here. I just added a new gadget (on your right) that will directly link you to my instagram profile. I have more Lego photos there so do check it out. Here's a screen capture of it :D

The Slender Family

Firstly, just want to apologize for the overdue post. Lack of motivation and assignments are to blame *point fingers*

Anyhow, for today's special, does any of you know the Slender Man? Generally, he's a tall creepy pale guy with no face but possess these incredibly long arms. He is often depicted in a black suit and tie. In his daily agenda, he would hunt and kill children for unknown reasons and he just loves to photobomb people by hiding in the background just so he can give people a few scares here and there. His weapon of choice would be his tentacles which can be protruded from any of his hand (tentacles rape?). Lastly, to seek him, you can find him in the woods lurking around in the mist.

Just google Slender Man and you will find tons of depictions of the creature. For me, I'm taking a step forward by portraying him with his family.

The picture consists of his wife (Ms Slender), son (Slender Junior) and him himself. This is purely my creation and it's not canon to whoever owns the rights to the guy. Such a happy family aren't they?

Anyhow, that's what I can make for now. Hopefully more would come in the future :D

Almost forgot about their dinner photo

Subs for This Sem

Sorry for the no post this past week. My semester just started and boy, am I swamped. First day itself and I already have assignments to complete which involve finding journals, visiting places and lots lots lots of reading (the sucky part).

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about gaining new knowledge but under the limited time and the huge amount of workload, it kinda feel like torture sometimes. True, I do need better time management and more control on my online activities (I'm easily sidetracked). Everything online just seems so much interesting when you start to hit the books.

Anyhow, other than my thesis, I have three subjects this semester. Firstly, there's :

Cross Cultural Psychology
As the name says it, this subject investigates how psychology concepts can be applied to other cultures. For those who take psychology, you will know that most concepts derived from Western psychologists. These ideas (e.g., parenting styles) are a major breakthrough in understanding human behaviours but there seems to be limitations when the ideas are applied to non-Western cultures. The underlying factor is obviously culture. Thus, it is imperative that people all over the world do not simply adopt a Western concept without first comprehending the similarity and difference of their culture to that of the Western.

Next,
Learning Disabilities
Everyone has the right to education. However, if say a child has a hindrance to learn due to physical or mental limitations, then we need to know how these limitations affect the child's learning ability. That's when this subject comes in. So for those who study this subject, they would learn what types of learning disabilities exist currently and how to combat these disabilities so that educators would know how to teach these individuals. Also, when a person is labelled as disabled, stigma would be automatically attached to that person. This class offers to teach people to be aware of their stigma and how to counter it.

Lastly,
Behaviour Modification
Ever wonder how you can change a negative behaviour to a positive one? Well, that's what this class is for. We learn what is the underlying mechanism that governs a person's behaviours and then we learn how anybody can change those behaviours with the right set of theories. Some examples include teaching a spoiled child to behave and reverse delinquent behaviours.

So there you have it, the three subjects I have to tackle this semester. They seem fun, which they are, but nothing is easy to learn so I gotta hit the books now because I'm spending too much time XD
